Rapid prototyping at H T Brigham adds value for customers
The benefits of 3D printing have been widely reported; fast, low-cost and kind to the environment. This rapid prototyping allows working concepts to be ruled in or out more quickly, speeding up the development process and reducing the project lead time as a whole.
Celebrating 70 Years of Presswork Success
Birmingham metal pressing manufacturer, H T Brigham celebrates 70 years in business this year. The company was established in 1947 by Hugh Terrence Brigham who, with just £80 start-up capital, operated a single hand-press from a garage shed in Birmingham, delivering components locally using his motorcycle and sidecar. He was paid £9 9s 8d on the completion of his first order.
Our dedicated project management team are here to see your project from initial concept, through the design and prototyping stages, right up to high volume product manufacture.
If you have a concept for a component, but are not sure how it could be achieved, we can discuss whether the metal pressing process is suitable, and if so, what the best route will be to achieve the desired result. Cutting edge die simulation techniques can assist with this process by identifying the level and location of any stresses in material which would occur during the manufacturing process.
Advice on alternative materials
Possibility for increased strength and durability
Potential for improvement
Our design engineers can help to advise on alternative materials, adjust the design or assess whether a different assembly method would be beneficial. Reconsidering any of these factors could result in a variety of improvements to the end product, including increased strength and durability, improved functionality, reduced component weight and lower costs.
Rapid prototyping, or 3D printing, can be used to comprehensively explore product feasibility and ultimately fast track design validation. This fast and low cost technique allows working concepts to be quickly ruled in or out, speeding up the development process and reducing project lead times.
We also, of course, provide a complete prototype development service as a precursor to full scale production in order to assist with your pre-production trials, should this be required.
