TRANSFER PRESSWORK

A transfer press operates by punching the component blank from the strip of material, before transferring the newly cut blank along the production line for further pressing operations to be performed.

The Transfer Presswork Process:

1.The raw metal strip is fed into the press

2. The tool cuts a blanks from the material

3. The blanks is then transferred to the next stage and the pressing operation is performed

4. At each subsequent stage an additional pressing operation is performed until the part is completed

Our extensive range of presses provide the capacity for high volume, complex transfer presswork component manufacture. The transfer method of presswork production can often eliminate the need for costly secondary operations to finish the component, as these can be conducted in the same press as part of the production process. This makes the transfer method of production an extremely cost effective option in many cases.

On our transfer press facility, we are able to manufacture components from coil and by using the latest stagger blank technology, we are able to maximise material usage and therefore offer significant cost savings over conventional blanking.

The transfer presses range in tonnage from 25 tons to 275 tons, with the number of stages ranging from 8 stations up to 10 stations. The height of a drawn cup can be up to 65mm on the smaller transfer presses and up to 110mm on the 275 ton transfer press.

The Transfer Presses:

300 Tonne Rhodes Press

Complete with stagger blanking which optimises material usage, and dedicated double-sided coil feeder, allowing 2 coils up to 3 Tonnes to be loaded at any one time, for minimum downtime between coil changes and higher production efficiency.

A wide range of Platarg Presses

25 Tonne 9 stage and 30 Tonne 10 stage.
